Description of Student's Research
My research is focused on the history of surgery in the early modern period. By reading a variety pf primary and secondary sources my goal is to find new associations between operations and instruments of past surgeons to help underscore their relationship to present ideas about surgery. This research shows that in an age of technologically advanced medicine and surgical techniques, it is important to understand the origin of the processes and appreciate the progress of modern medical development.
